Yesterday, Mady was hit by a car. She received medical care at Ilioara vet clinic. Because of her 
critic condition and the fact that the healing process is slow and expensive, she is now in our custody.
Mady has multiple hip fractures, a broken leg and, unfortunately, a ruptured diaphragm. This means she must go 
through surgery and she is too weak for it.

Sushi is a 2 years old stray. She recently had the misfortune of being hit by a car.
The people that were looking out for her took her to the vet where she went into surgery and the result of that is what you can see now. The bones healed in the wrong position so Sushi is now in pain and cannot walk properly. Her paws tend to cross and this is making her life a lot harder.
Because she is truly loved by the ones that care for her, Sushi has arrived today at dr Bercaru’s clinic and will go through her second surgery. Continue reading →

For three days, this little girl agonized in a park in Bucharest with hundreds of people passing by and no one stopping to help her. She collapsed, couldn’t breathe, was covered in flies and somebody decided to end her suffering by hitting her in the head with a shovel.. We found out all of this last night, when we decided to take her in our care. Her condition is critical. X-rays showed no broken bones, but the test indicated that she has Distemper.
She cannot eat or drink by herself. She is now in treatment, but her chances of recovery are very slim. Continue reading →

A small sized female dog was injured by car and ended up with multiple fractures in the pelvis area. The little one is hospitalized at the FMV where she received the first aid and today she will be operated. For the first 2 days of her staying we paid 120 lei (almost 30 euros) and we must pay as soon as possible the 700 lei (approximately 165 euros) for her surgery.

Bubu is an approximately 3 months old puppy who was the victim of an accident. Yesterday he was found by some good-hearted people who brought him to a clinic where his wounds could be treated. Even if they aren’t rich, the rescuers of the puppy paid a lot for treatments who were not worth it, especially that the medical staff that sewed his wounds the first time did not clean him properly and a few ticks remained under the skin, so another intervention was needed to clean the wounds. Because they could no longer afford to pay for his treatment, the rescuers asked for our help, so here’s the little one in our custody. Continue reading →

Pey is one of the cats we took with us a few years ago, from a rooftop terrace in 1 Mai neighborhood, Bucharest. The tomcat is semi wild and he had serious health problems lately.
We feared we were going to lose the handsome tomcat, but, to our joy, the little one is surviving. He still has bad days, but generally speaking his condition seems to be improving. We can even say he’s gained some weight if we compare it to the condition he had arrived at a while ago. Continue reading →

The little skinny one had spent three days with an open fracture and that’s why his paw had to be amputated. Gangrene had caught his leg and unfortunately it couldn’t be saved anymore.

Besides, he also had babesiosis and that induced a serious condition of his health. His gums were white and, in order to save him, a transfusion was necessary. His luck was Scharo, an adult male already used to be the one that saves his fellows. Continue reading →

To see a dog lying down near a veterinarian clinic is an ordinary thing in Romania. Many of the vet doctors ask you, in case you take a stray to them, if you can pay for him or her. In case that dog has a serious problem and you can’t afford to pay, doctors don’t pay any attention to him (we’re talking especially about big fancy clinics), so the animal may die without having been looked at once.
Today, a dog hit in a car accident has been lying and howling in pain all day long, near Ilioara clinic. His spine is probably broken. A young lady saw him and she dared to ask the doctors at Ilioara if they know about the dog and especially if they can help him in any way. Continue reading →

Stevie, the victim of a ‘human’, the dog that survived an aggression hard to imagine, is now blind and he is learning now to adapt to the new situation, as a blind dog.
The news regarding him are not exactly the ones we wished. He ate yesterday but he vomited everything shortly after. He drank lots of water but he vomited that too. The rash from his eyes nearly reached his back of his head. In this morning his head was very swollen but during the day he got better. We hope that tomorrow we will come back with better news.
