Robi is another dog that is handling the consequences of cruelty..

We’ve seen a lot in our many years of activity, but we haven’t seen a case like this one. Robi is a doggy whose owners, a wonderful family, are more than willing to love him and to help him live, even if he stays this way or not for the rest of his life.
Robi is only one year and three months old. When he was one, he was the victim of an accident (his owners, preoccupied by the accident, weren’t thinking of memorizing the number of the car). Robi was immediately taken to the vet, but because his owners couldn’t afford to pay for the X-rays and surgical operations, the doctors who saw him simply sutured his wounds, meaning they only did what they were paid for, regardless of the dog’s needs. Stevie and the world of darkness

Stevie is the victim of one or more “humans” (we are waiting for the POLICE to solve his case) who showed an incredible cruelty. Click here to see what happened to the doggy

The little one is having trouble adjusting to his new condition, that of a BLIND dog. His body is refusing to help him. He’s not eating as he should and today he’s fine but tomorrow he’s vomiting and he’s apathetic. The hematoma on his head is still creating problems and his condition is fluctuating, sometimes he’s feeling OK, sometimes not. Now he is still hospitalized at the City-Vet clinic and he gets all the attention, treatment and love he’s probably missed until he was discovered in that terrible situation. Continue reading

Stevie has good tastes

Stevie has good tastes: he doesn’t refuse backed chicken with oregano and other spices, he even askes for more Apart from this, the poor baby is not doing very good. The eyes are not healed yet and he is not confortable without his seight. Slowly, really slow he is getting used with the space in which he is kept and starts to walk around.

Read it and weep!

Here’s why we kept asking the authorities to take protection measures for cats too. To prevent people like the person below to act the way she does, it’s necessary to make these measures mandatory:
– to identify and register all owned cats and
– to neuter owned cats (of course, with the obvious exceptions)
What is your opinion on this?
How should the lady in the story below be punished for her cruelty to cats?

News from Stevie

StivieHe started to eat, to recognize voices and to rejoice by strongly wagging his tail, but he’s still shaking with fear when he walks across the tiny room he’s kept in. We hope he’ll soon get used to his new condition as a blind dog and he’ll stop being afraid when he’s moving.

We keep on spaying and neutering, but they also need adoption/foster

DSC07491Today, another cat was spayed due to the free spaying/neutering program started by Asociatia Robi. This cat has owners that feed her and let her live inside.. and that’s about it. She gave birth a few times, some of them “went missing” when a dog took them and ran, others simply didn’t come back.

At this point there are 2 mature female cats, a male cat that has been bitten by a dog and 3 other 3 months old kittens, all females. Continue reading
