Recently, we received a call for help for a female dog that has been on antibiotics for vaginal discharge for the last year. The doctors that saw her said she has pyometra and should be put to sleep. Her owner could not bring herself to do so and decided to try the antibiotics treatment. The discharge didn’t stop after a long period of treatment so he followed an unconventional treatment with kefir. The problem stopped but after a short while, a new one appeared: vaginal prolapse. The little dog was taken to the vet and was going to undergo surgery. The owner could not afford the procedure and asked for our help.
Blanca was taken to City Vet, had blood tests and was operated. When they opened her up, the doctors discovered that she did not have pyometra but several cervical tumors. Dr Aurora Sasu removed all the tumor that could be removed. If Blanca was to be spayed in time, this situation would not have existed.
The procedure, blood tests and treatment will be covered by Robi’s Association .
